Last minute holidays in summer 2019

Last Minute Summer Trip Ideas; Holidays, Camping & Spas...

Summer is drawing to a close, but that doesn’t mean your time for a holiday needs to. It’s getting to about that time of year where everyone starts browsing at the last minute holiday deals, city breaks and camping spots to start planning that sneaky trip away!

It’s a great time to book your next trip away because you’ll probably grab a bargain. Even if it’s just a spa weekend for two, you know you deserve it - it’s been a long, crazy 7 months! We’ve compiled this guide to help you get started with your end-of-summer holiday shopping. We’ve also thrown in a few accessories, in case you feel like adding a few new items to the holiday-drobe.

1. A week away in the sun

You often get such great deals on last-minute weeks away at this time of year. If you’re really looking to soak up some more vitamin D - because let’s face it, we've not had enough! Then 7 days in Tenerife, Spain or Greece relaxing by the poolside, visiting markets and laying on the beach may be exactly what you need. Shop around on Thomas Cook, Travel Supermarket and On The Beach to make sure you find the holiday that is right for you!

You’ll definitely need a beach bag - and we absolutely adore a canvas bag, especially for a sandy holiday.  Pair it with a new necklace for those long, and relaxing, days at the beach. Perfect with a bikini, sarrong, pair of flip flops and a hat!

2. Last-minute cottage in the Lake District

You may not fancy a whole week away in the sun and prefer somewhere a little closer to home. The Lake District offers so much to see and do whilst you are there from cycling, boat tours to walking. Lots of walking! The Lake District is the perfect place to switch off, get outdoors and maybe have a romantic few nights away...

You can browse sites such as Sykes Holiday Cottages and Last Minute Cottages to secure a home for a few days. Have a look at the Lake District National Park website for more information on all the activities that could keep you occupied on your time away!

These mini wallets would look lovely on your travels around the Lake District. Perfect for putting a few pennies away if you want to stop for some food or at a local pub, but super practical if you want a walk as well!

Remember a wash bag as well for all your toiletries!

You Are A Star Pouch | £14

3. A weekend away in Scotland; Spa, B&B or camping

What about a road trip around Scotland? Or a relaxing weekend in the highlands at a spa - both sound great, right? A weekend away in Scotland doesn’t have to come at a high cost, from fairly priced campsites up and down the country to homely B&Bs. If you feel like really splashing out for the weekend you could go a stay at Gleneagles or Stobo Castle

There’s camping in almost every corner of Scotland. You could take a trip around the NC500 or climb several Munros whilst you are there. A great place to start is the Visit Scotland website, as well as Spa Breaks and the Walkhighlands website.

A weekend in Scotland (it goes without saying that you'll probably need a coat!) can be accessorised in many ways. From a gorgeous shopper bag, toothbrush set and notebook you’ll have everything you need for a spa weekend. A few travel mugs and a portable BBQ and you’ll be set for a weekend away camping. 4. City Break - London, Amsterdam, Belgium? Anywhere!

Oh, we do love a city break. Glam night outs, shopping, sightseeing, lots of new adventures! A last-minute city break might be just what the doctor ordered. Why not head to the theatre after you’ve eaten a gorgeous meal in the West End of London? A canal trip with pizza and wine in Amsterdam? Or a real romantic getaway sightseeing and eating incredible breakfast in Paris?

Looking for a last-minute city break doesn’t have to be as expensive as it sounds! Start with Skyscanner to compare flights, browse Groupon to find any last-minute weekend break deals, Expedia would also be a great place to browse for ideas as well!

You’ll probably be needing a new clutch bag for your city break. It goes without saying that you'll be out in the evening. New jewellery would also be perfect - adding a little sparkle to your weekend.
