Care and use:

Seasoning just needs to be done once and after seasoning you should avoid washing the pan in soapy water as it will then need re-seasoning
Always add some oil before cooking – the pan is not suitable for fat-free cooking
Use silicone, wooden or metal utensils
Suitable for use on all types of hob, including induction
Try to match the diameter of the pan to the ring on the hob
Avoid dragging your pan across a glass topped hob
Grill and oven safe up to 240°C
Never leave your pan unattended. If strong smoke develops then the pan is too hot. Immediately remove from the heat and then continue at a lower temperature.
Use oven gloves when lifting the pans
Do not place pans on the oven floor, always use an oven shelf

To season your AGA black iron pan:

Your pan needs seasoning in order to remove the antirust coating and to ensure you get the best performance from your pan
Seasoning will help to create a non-stick patina
Put potato peelings or sliced potatoes into the clean pan with plenty of salt
Cover the base with an oil that has a high smoke point such as sunflower or peanut oil
Fry the potato peelings or slices on a medium heat for about 30 minutes until the potatoes brown
Discard the potatoes and wipe the pan
From now on do not wash the pan as you want to retain the oily patina
After each use wipe away any food residues and rub the inside with cooking oil, preferably sunflower oil

The treatment used on the Black Iron pan is a single layer silicone spray coating from ILAG Switzerland, ILAFLON SELECT S. It is free of PFAS / PTFE. The primary purpose of the coating is to prevent the pan from rusting in storage. The coating is naturally removed, during initial seasoning and cooking. It is certified to the highest European / EU contact with food standard, LFGB.

HOW OUR DELIVERIES WORK

We dispatch orders Monday to Friday, five days a week.

Orders placed before 1pm will usually be dispatched the same day. Orders placed after 1pm will be dispatched the following working day, and orders placed over the weekend will be dispatched on Monday.

Once your order is on its way, you’ll receive tracking information so you can follow its journey.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to deliver to PO Box addresses.

If your delivery seems to be taking a little longer than expected, please get in touch with your name, order number and full delivery address and we’ll happily look into it for you.

Delivery is calculated automatically at checkout depending on the size and value of your order:

• Expedited Shipping – £6.95
  Royal Mail Tracked 24 – Royal Mail aims to deliver the next working day after dispatch, although this is not a guaranteed next-day service.
• Transparent Shipping – £6.14
  Royal Mail Tracked 48. This is the actual cost to us of sending your parcel. As a small independent business, we don’t have access to the heavily discounted postal rates available to the big guys, so this option simply covers our postage cost.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I’M NOT HOME?

Our parcels are sent with Royal Mail. If they’re unable to deliver your parcel, they’ll provide details of your delivery options, which may include rearranging delivery or collecting your parcel.

If a parcel is eventually returned to us because delivery couldn’t be completed, we’ll contact you. If you’d like us to send it again, we may need to charge the postage cost for redelivery.

If you know you won’t be home, you may prefer to have your order delivered to an alternative address where someone will be available to receive it.

OVERSEAS DELIVERY

At the moment, we’re unfortunately unable to ship outside the UK. We hope to change this in the future.

RETURNS TO QUINCE & COOK

We hope you love your purchase, but if it’s not quite right, you can return it to us within 14 days of delivery.

Items must be returned unused, in their original packaging and in resalable condition. We recommend using a tracked postal service and keeping your proof of postage until your refund has been processed.

Unless an item is faulty, return postage is the responsibility of the customer.

If your item arrives faulty or damaged, please contact us before returning it so that we can arrange the appropriate return at no cost to you.

Please allow up to 28 days for your refund to be processed.

Cookers and large appliances are subject to separate delivery, cancellation and returns terms. Please see our Terms & Conditions for information relating to individual manufacturers.

Delivery times will also differ from those above, as many large items require a specialist delivery service. Following your order, we’ll provide further information about your expected delivery date, and the courier will usually contact you by email or text to confirm the arrangements.

Delivery charges for large appliances also vary and will be calculated at checkout.
