Cafes & Restaurants in Perth that we can’t wait to return to!
Fellow foodies! How much have you all missed lazy Sunday brunches? Or, mid-week catch-ups over piping hot coffee and a homemade scone? We certainly have.
It’s not just the delicious food or that fact that we don’t have to tackle the dishes afterwards. What we’ve really missed the most about Perth’s cafes and restaurants closing their doors over the last few months, is the social aspect. Whether it’s chatting away over lunch with friends or taking some well deserved child-free time with your other half to share some wine and a nice meal.
Yes, things might be a little different as we return to some of Perth’s top cafes and restaurants, but nonetheless what a fabulous feeling it will be to be welcomed back in. We are all well equipped with the safety practices by now! Here are some (emphasis on some!) of our favourite cafes and restaurants to visit in and around Perth city.
Little Bird Café
Starting with one of our all-time favourite places to indulge in a delicious brekkie or brunch, Little Bird Cafe. These guys serve up everything that you could possibly wish for in the most Insta-worthy way! They have a wide range of healthier options to fuel you up for your day ahead, or you can treat yourself to their take on a classic morning roll only fresher.
Recognise the name? Of course, you do! Little Bird Café is where we held our Wash House Store Christmas pop-up shop. It feels like many moons ago now!
Blend
A social hub for the city of Perth, Blend offers a warm and inviting place to kick back and relax with friends over a cuppa. The instant smell of coffee beans when you step into the café alone makes Blend worth popping into if you are in Perth. For the more adventurous of you, there are some seriously funky flavours on the menu! From toffee nut macchiato to Jaffa cake mocha. Yum!
269 Vegan, Perth
Oh my! Vegan or not, 269 Vegan is a wonderful café in Perth city centre. These guys cater for all, with plenty of nut, gluten and soy-free options available. Waffles, homemade soup, pancakes, filled bagels, fresh salads, smoothies and not to mention their selection of baked goods. 269 Vegan not only offers a friendly place to snack, but they can also help you to bring their scrumptious recipes in your home with their meal prep service where you can pre-order via their website.
Hinterland
Can you tell we love coffee? Next up, is coffee shop and eatery Hinterland. Located right in the city centre in St Johns Place, Hinterland is an inviting café to stop in for a light bite of lunch in Perth. We’ve got to say that their choice of sandwiches and ciabatta fillings is something really quite special. For us avocado-lovers, the oven-roasted chicken breast, avocado and lemon mayo is a winner!
Not only will you find yourself a fabulous breakfast and lunch in this little city hotspot, but also a superb cup of coffee. Their handcrafted blend of beans makes for a great kick start to your day.
The Roost Restaurant & Grill
Sunday roast? Yes, please! Whilst The Roost Restaurant and Grill do a wonderful job on the classic Sunday roast, delicious food is served up in their friendly restaurant every day of the week. Sourcing their meat from local Scottish butchers, the menu offers a real variety of flavours. Not to mention, their in-house wood-burning oven which cooks everything in the most natural way and gives off a totally unique smoky flavour. Anyone else starting to feel very hungry all of a sudden?
Delicious
The clue is in the name! Delicious is Perth’s quirky little sandwich shop only a few streets back from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. As you can most likely imagine, on arrival you will be instantly blown away by the filling choices on offer, for takeaway or to sit in. You can also add some homemade soup to your order or a sweet treat from the cake cabinet. Delicious is such a handy little café to stop by on those busy workdays for just a few moments of relaxation and a tasty snack. We can’t wait to return!
Brown & Blacks
For a night out with the girls or romantic meal for two with the other half, Brown & Blacks is a great pick. Every dish comes beautifully presented and is made with the freshest local produce. The menu is a happy balance of classic and contemporary so there is something for everyone to tuck into.
Aside from Brown & Blacks’ mouth-watering food menu, have you also checked out their range of cocktails? If not, then we definitely recommend that you do.
63 Tay Street
63 Tay Street reopens on the 20th of May serving up their award-winning dishes by the South Inch park. They have even teased a fresh new look to the restaurant which we can't wait to check out whilst tucking into a gourmet meal and a large glass of wine.
Willows Coffee Shop
Nestled in the city centre, Willows Coffee Shop & Restaurant is a lovely choice of place to eat out in Perth. During the day you can indulge in their breakfast and lunch menu as well as a tasty afternoon tea. Whilst in the evening Willows offer a dinner menu which has some new additions in time for their grand reopening. If you enjoy reclining outdoors and people watching the Fair city, then their outdoor seating area is the perfect spot to dine or drink.
There are still so many brilliant wee coffee shops and restaurants in and around Perth to add to the list! Where are your favourite places to eat in the fair city?
